In the second volume of our series Begegnungen in München(‘Encounters in Munich’), we would like to present you with a number of select houses in the district of Schwabing, together with the stories that they could tell – stories that often make history come to life. No other district of the Bavarian capital has fired the imagination as much or become as mythical as Schwabing. Even today, if you stroll through its streets you can still catch a whiff of its former greatness.

Here, you can admire Neogothic architecture next to a magnificent classical building, and just over there, there is a Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) mansion. They bear witness to a time where writers, poets, artists and revolutionaries came together and created works both ephemeral and eternal.
